Job Summary
The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for planning and preparing master menus, supervising food production and service programs, ensuring optimal nutrition in meal preparation, and maintaining a departmental budget. Key responsibilities include menu planning for therapeutic diets, monitoring residents' nutritional status, maintaining cleanliness in all work areas, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for food preparation. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, certification as a Certified Dietary Manager within two years, and 2-3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen. Strong communication, organization, and management skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency is required
- Must attain certification as Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) within two years of job start
- 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a commercial kitchen is desired
- Current and active certification as CDM is a plus!
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to read, write and speak the English Language
- Organization and management skills
