Job Summary
Manage daily foodservice operations in accordance with facility policy, federal, and state regulations. Specify standards for food preparation, participate in menu planning, and inspect meals for quality and safety. Process diet orders, calculate nutrition intake, and develop dietary plans with the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Manage the department budget, develop work schedules, and recruit, coach, and evaluate staff. Ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines and participate in regulatory agency surveys. Work long hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requires CDM certification, two years of noncommercial foodservice management experience, and ability to lift 50lbs.

- Able to withstand extreme temperatures, hot and cold.
- Able to work long hours, including some evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed.
- Team player and ability to lead by example.
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Skill in motivating, coaching, and supervising food service personnel
- Intermediate computer skills
- Mathematical and numerical skills; mechanical aptitude helpful.
- Effective written and oral communication skills with clients, facility staff, vendors, etc.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Current awareness of foodservice-related legislation and regulations influencing the practice of standards of care.
- Demonstrated accountability for continued competence.
- Graduate of Foodservice Manager Training Program or a 2-year or 4-year foodservice management or nutrition program.
- Successful completion of CDM Credentialing Exam with active CDM, CFPP certification status.
- Two years of experience in noncommercial foodservice management
Desired Qualifications
- prior experience in healthcare foodservice is preferred
