Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure quality nutritional services. Develop and maintain written job descriptions, review policies annually, and process diet changes from the Nursing Department. Inspect food storage and preparation areas for cleanliness, maintain adequate stock levels, and ensure aseptic techniques align with the Infection Control Committee. Process resident discharge planning, participate in facility surveys, and review therapeutic diet plans to assure compliance with physician orders. Manage budgetary responsibilities including financial transactions and budget development.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma
- Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification
- 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility
- knowledge of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
