Job Summary
Dietary Manager responsible for supervising food and nutrition services at StoneBridge Senior Living. Duties include assessing residents' nutritional needs; developing and evaluating regular and therapeutic diets; implementing person-centered education programs for facility staff; overseeing budget, purchasing, food preparation, service, storage; participating in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI); maintaining sanitation and safety; ensuring timely meal preparation and alignment with care plans; participating in interdisciplinary team meetings; recruiting, hiring, coaching, and evaluating Food and Nutrition staff; scheduling to cover shifts; monitoring budgets and forecasting; using inventories, waste records, and equipment data to plan purchases; ensuring meals follow production schedules, menus, and standardized recipes; managing special nourishments and diet changes; ensuring safe receiving, storage, preparation, and service of food; coordinating with Registered Dietitian as needed; supporting RD duties as required; and contributing to meal quality and resident satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- A certified dietary manager; or
- A certified food service manager; or
- Has similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body; or
- Has an associate degree or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service management or in management, from an accredited institution of higher learning; and
- Has 2 or more years of experience in the position of director of food and nutrition services in a nursing facility setting and has completed a course of study in food safety and management, by no later than October 1, 2023, that includes topics integral to managing dietary operations, including, but not limited to, foodborne illness, sanitation procedures and purchasing/receiving; and
- In States that have established standards for food service managers or dietary managers, meets State requirements for food service managers and dietary managers, and
- Receives frequently scheduled consultations from a qualified dietician or other clinically qualified nutrition professionals
