Job Summary
Oversee daily food-service operations by assisting the Dietary Manager in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff while managing work schedules. Ensure meals meet standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance through inspections of appearance, temperature, and preparation according to standardized recipes. Collaborate with facility staff, physicians, and vendors to meet client expectations while maintaining records for personnel, inventory, and equipment. Process diet orders, update nutritional profiles, and assist in developing dietary plans and completing MDS sections. Review and document nutritional concerns to improve client health and eating function while ensuring food safety practices align with HACCP Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Strong ability to motivate, coach, and supervise front-line personnel
- Intermediate computer skills and organizational abilities
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with legislation and regulations influencing healthcare food-service standards
Desired Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Undergraduate Education
- Prior experience in healthcare food service or a supervisory role
