Job Summary
Dietary Helper II provides patient and retail meal service under the Nutrition Services Supervisor. Responsibilities include setting up and stocking the workstation, preparing and assembling menu items, ensuring compliance with modified and restricted diets, assembling patient trays with accurate portions and presentation, serving retail customers, and performing cash functions. The role involves transporting food carts, delivering floor stock, passes trays to patients using two identifiers, handling soiled trays, dish-room duties, washing and sanitizing dishes, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards. Requires effective communication within the department and with patients and staff; dedicated to high-quality food service and patient-centered care. Rotating shift with every other weekend; full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper lifting techniques and safety precautions
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper use and storage of potentially hazardous cleaning products
- Strong customer service focus
- Must be able to prioritize and multi-task and stay focused in a busy environment
