Job Summary
Direct and oversee the dietary department in a long-term care setting, ensuring meals are safe, nutritious, and aligned with physician orders and regulatory standards. Manage staff, budget, and coordination with nursing and other departments. Responsibilities include meal planning, portion control, food safety, staff hiring/training/evaluation, staff scheduling, supervising kitchen operations, QA/IDT participation, nutrition notes and diet-card maintenance, and ongoing compliance with federal/state/local regulations. Proficiency with PCC software is preferred. The role requires leadership, budget oversight, and a focus on resident well-being and satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved dietary manager’s course meeting state and federal regulations
- Minimum one year of experience in a long-term care dietary department preferred
- Knowledge of PCC (PointClickCare) software preferred
- Must maintain required continuing education and licensing
- Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health License and Certification Division
