Job Summary
Relief Cook prepares and serves nourishing and attractive meals according to planned menus and dietary orders, operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, follows recipes, uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required, and ensures food safety and quality in a Solaris HealthCare center. Responsibilities include reviewing menus and production guides, preparing meal items, seasoning and garnishing as needed, assisting with special function meals, and supporting overall food service operations in a healthcare setting. This role emphasizes adherence to federal, state, and local standards and Solaris policies, with shift differentials based on location and shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read and write, required.
- One to two years as cook in a large scale cooking operation, preferred.
