Job Summary

General Purpose: Manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor; supervise and cooperate with dietary staff; follow menus, prepare meals including special diets, and ensure safety, sanitation, and portion control. Essential duties include maintaining kitchen hygiene, preparing a variety of foods in large quantities, recording food temperatures, preparing pureed foods, assisting with serving meals, reporting resident care concerns, supervising in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, and ensuring cleaning schedules are followed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of cook experience in a hospital or long-term care facility, ServSafe certification, and maintaining good standing with the Department of Public Health. The role emphasizes teamwork, following recipes, presenting appealing food, and adherence to health and safety standards within a post-acute healthcare provider environment (PACS). Required Qualifications
