Job Summary
Dietary Cook needed at Hayward Gardens Post Acute in Hayward, CA. Part-Time / On-Call role in the dietary services team. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary requirements; ensuring food is prepared, portioned, and served per facility standards; following all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines; maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas; assisting with food preparation, stocking, and inventory; working with dietary staff to ensure timely meal service; accommodating special diets and modified textures as directed by dietary management; and adhering to all state, federal, and facility regulations. We offer competitive pay at $20.00 per hour, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for career growth within a post-acute care organization.
Required Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, or food service setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
- Food Handler Card preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
