Job Summary
Open the kitchen, manage the POS system, and prepare breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks for patients, residents, and the cafeteria using standardized recipes and diet-approved menus. Cook food and bakery products while rotating overproduction, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and operating equipment like slicers and steamers. Handle cash counts and secure funds at shift end, place food orders, and check freight. Perform case-by-case, weekly, and monthly cleaning, sanitation, and inventory duties. Work a 12-hour shift when necessary, standing or lifting up to 50 pounds while adhering to infection-prevention guidelines and PPE requirements. Assist with closing procedures including dishwashing and floor mopping.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be flexible in task completion
- Willing to assist others in the department
- Willing to work a 12-hour shift if necessary
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds using proper body mechanics
- Must follow all universal precautions to include safety of food handling and preparation
- Must follow food handling and infection-prevention guidelines
- Must be able to reach overhead
