Job Summary
Prepare and cook resident meals in quantities according to menu and prescribed diet specifications, using proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield. Maintain sanitation, monitor portion control, and serve meals per dietary guidelines and facility policies. Assist with meals for facility personnel, families, visitors, and for special occasions as directed. Attend in-service education to meet facility requirements and uphold confidentiality and resident rights. Promote teamwork and hospitality to residents while ensuring safety and accuracy of trays and diets; comply with Standard Precautions and evacuation procedures; be prepared for variability in work demands and emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in preparing foods in large quantities.
- Organized and detailed in work performance.
- Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
- Comply with the Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.
- Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.
- Perform Essential Duties as outlined above.
