Job Summary
Review menus prior to preparation of food and prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, ensuring items are palatable and appetizing. Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis, while preparing and serving substitute foods for residents who refuse items or request alternatives. Prepare food for therapeutic diets and follow standardized recipes and special diet orders. This role requires a high school diploma, one year of cook experience, and a food handler's card. Schedule is 10:30am-7pm, Thurs-Mon at Leisure Vale Assisted Living in Glendale, CA. Competitive wages, benefits, and flexible scheduling are included.
Required Qualifications
- Must have 1+ years of experience as a Cook
- Food handler's card
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Cook/Dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care home or other related medical facility is preferred but not required
- Experience in cooking a variety of food in large quantities
- Experience with food preparation and nutrition
