Job Summary
The Dietary Cook prepares and serves food for residents, employees, and special events, ensuring proper food handling, safe serving temperatures, and attractive presentation. Responsibilities include reviewing menus before preparation, producing meals for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus, accommodating individual dietary needs and preferences, using standardized recipes, maintaining sanitary policies, and ensuring foods taste good and are served promptly. The role emphasizes accurate portioning, adherence to established procedures, and contributing to a clean, safe kitchen environment with opportunities for growth and development within the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation
- Knowledge of safe food preparation, handling techniques, and basic nutrition of food
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred, or other food safety certification as required in state or county of facility.
