Job Summary
Prepare resident meals in quantities according to menu and number of persons served, ensuring proper cooking temperatures and sanitation. Taste, smell, and observe all foods to confirm recipes and appetizing appearance, then serve trays while checking for completeness and accuracy. Monitor portion control guidelines to prevent waste and inspect special diet trays to assure correct diets are served. Clean work areas and equipment in accordance with facility procedures and attend in-service education programs. Maintain confidentiality of resident records and protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse. Perform duties under supervision of the Dietary Manager, adhering to dietary and sanitary regulations while promoting an atmosphere of teamwork and hospitality.
