Job Summary
Prepare meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and special dietary orders while ensuring portion control and palatable presentation. Assist in the production of all menu items and coordinate food service with other departments as necessary. Demonstrate safe food handling procedures and maintain cleanliness of work and storage areas. Complete administrative requirements such as forms and reports for the Director of Food Services. Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Work with the facility's dietitian to implement recommended changes.
Required Qualifications
- Dietary Cook with Healthcare Facility Experience
- Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Must be knowledgeable of food procedures
- Must be able to complete a background check
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
