Job Summary
Dietary Cook prepares meals, snacks, and beverages for residents in a skilled nursing community following dietician-approved menus and resident dietary needs. Maintains kitchen sanitation and safety per health guidelines, operates kitchen appliances, and collaborates with dietary and care teams to deliver high-quality dining experiences. Responsibilities include following menus, labeling and storing food safely, cleaning dining and kitchen areas, and ensuring resident confidentiality per HIPAA. The role requires physical activity including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a professional kitchen environment; evening shift possible; role offers part-time opportunities with competitive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Continuing education related to dietary services is a plus
- Previous experience in quantity food production preferred, especially in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Familiarity with lock-out/tag-out procedures and use of personal protective equipment
