Job Summary
Prepare meals and snacks for residents according to daily menus, recipes, and special diet guidelines while ensuring balanced nutrition. Taste, smell, and observe food to verify conformance with appearance standards and portion sizes, then serve using standard measuring tools. Provide seconds as needed and monitor resident satisfaction through walk-throughs and conversations. Maintain a sanitary kitchen environment by cleaning equipment, washing and sanitizing dishes, and managing dishwashing processes. Ensure refrigerators and freezers are covered, dated, and maintained at proper temperatures, discarding outdated food promptly. Demonstrate responsibility for the food service operation in the manager's absence, participate in fire drills, and maintain resident confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
- Must maintain a current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Must have one (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
- Must be able to participate as assigned in fire and disaster drills
- Must maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff
- Must be able to wear aprons, hair nets, and other protective clothing as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Culinary apprenticeship or training
- Restaurant, cooking and/or culinary experience
