Job Summary
Dietary Assistant to support Buckner Retirement Services’ dining operations by setting tables, bussing and washing, preparing beverages and food, serving meals and beverages to residents, assisting with tray preparation and serving, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, performing basic prep work, rotating and storing groceries, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Requires a food handlers certificate and ability to read/write English; part-time role with emphasis on teamwork and resident care in a senior living community.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- Ability to follow basic written and oral instructions
- Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds continuously
- Ability to stand/walk for 75% of shift
- Ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize safety concerns
- Ability to perform tasks under close supervision performing routine tasks
- Ability to work with residents and cooperate with other employees
- Ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness and sanitation requirements
- Good health to discharge duties and no infectious disease or skin lesion during communicability
