Job Summary
Dietary Assistant supports culinary and kitchen staff by setting tables, preparing trays, serving meals and beverages to residents, washing dishes, cleaning, stocking groceries, and assisting with prep work. Responsibilities include preparing beverages and food as required, serving food in dining rooms or other areas, maintaining hygiene and safety, receiving and storing groceries, rotating stock, and assisting with training new staff. Must have ability to read, write, and understand English; meet training or certification requirements (food handlers certificate); and physically perform tasks such as moving equipment up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for most of the shift. Works as part of a team and adheres to Buckner policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines; participates in meetings and training as required.
Required Qualifications

- ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- ability to move food serving and preparation equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally/frequently
- ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75% of shift
- ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks
- ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness and sanitation requirements
- ability to comply with Patient Rights, all regulatory requirements, and Buckner policies and procedures
