Job Summary
Assist the cook with producing quality food products at proper temperatures and on time. Clean and sanitize assigned equipment, work areas, and dining rooms by clearing tables, washing dishes, and loading meals onto trays. Replenish food supplies from storerooms and freezers while monitoring and recording resident meal consumption. Deliver prepared meals to residents' rooms and the dining room, assisting those who need help eating. Set up the dining room for service and advise the supervisor when supplies are low. Read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and dietary cardex procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have the ability to read and follow instructions
- Must have knowledge of elementary math
- Must have the ability to be compassionate and patient when working with residents and their family members
- Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move 25 to 40 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move over 50 pounds
- Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to taste or smell
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, dietary cardex and procedure manuals
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a food service environment
- Prior experience in a long-term care environment
