Job Summary
The Food Service Assistant role at Good Samaritan/Sanford Health is a part-time position focused on food service duties in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include monitoring and recording proper temperatures per HACCP guidelines, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, handling payments with a computerized register, and delivering customer service to patrons and coworkers. The role may require operating equipment (grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigeration) and adhering to food safety and sanitation processes. Prior experience in food service and the ability to work on feet for extended periods are preferred. Union position (UFCW) with wage range $17.00–$21.25 per hour, based on experience; location is Stillwater, Minnesota. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience
- Retail counting and reconciliation of money
- Knowledge of food service
- On-the-job training will be provided
- Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to perform basic math
- Serv Safe may be required depending on location
- Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location
- Possesses ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances
