Job Summary
Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences while maintaining proper serving temperatures. Assists cooks in preparing uncooked items like salads and vegetables, clears trays, and operates the dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure. Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies, including leftovers. Stocks unit kitchenettes and assembles nourishment carts. Adheres to established departmental policies regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, and infection control. Attends facility meetings and in-service education programs as assigned. This temporary part-time role at Trillium Court Home in Kincardine, ON, runs from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesdays, Fridays, and every other weekend. Compensation ranges from $22.59 to $25.28.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Higher Academic Certification
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position (standing for long periods of time, moderate to heavy lifting, fast paced environment)
- Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
- Must be available to work, days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Degree/ Diploma in nutrition or Food Service Program
- Previous dietary skills, knowledge, and experience with institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service environments
