Job Summary
Assist with plating and serving meals while cleaning serving areas and equipment. Ensure food is prepared and served according to health guidelines and dietary equipment is used competently. Participate in meal presentation, assist in food preparation, and help organize snacks to meet resident needs. Deliver meals based on assessed requirements and support dining room clean-up for special events. Report environmental deficiencies and promote wellness through safe work practices. Provide input on menu planning and collaborate with volunteers and students.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
- Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting
Desired Qualifications
- Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care) Home 0-1 year(s)
