Job Summary
Plate food according to planned menus using standard recipes and garnish items following portion guidelines. Handle, transport, and deliver food carts to residents, guests, and employees while ensuring freshness, cooking status, and proper temperatures. Maintain daily logs, postings, and documentation required for meal services. Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes and utensils from meal services. Scrub and mop floors, clean and sanitize equipment, and inventory and stock food and paper goods in satellite kitchens. Prepare snacks and beverages for between-meal service to residents. Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school
- Strong ability to work independently and manage meal service for 20 residents
- Some food service work experience
- Great communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Ability to sit, walk, and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects
- Ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, grasp, and climb
- Ability to basically squat and kneel
- Ability to appropriately interact with others in a moderate noise level environment
- Occasional travel to different locations
