Job Summary
Handle, transport, and plate food for residents, guests, and employees according to dietary guidelines, portion guidelines, and standard recipes. Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper temperature of all food while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout food service areas, facilities, and equipment. Stock and clean stations, wash and sanitize dishes, and inventory food and paper goods in satellite kitchens. Communicate shortages to the supervisor, report equipment malfunctions to the executive chef, and maintain daily logs and documentation. Deliver and retrieve food carts, set up service lines, and perform scheduled cleaning duties including scrubbing floors and sanitizing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school
- Strong ability to work independently and manage meal service for 20 residents
- Some food service work experience
- Great communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Ability to sit, walk, and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, grasp, and climb
- Ability to basically squat and kneel
- Ability to occasionally travel to different locations
