Job Summary
Ensure food is handled safely through proper storage and labeling, then assist cooks with basic preparation and execute service according to internal and external guidelines. Serve meals based on resident diet orders while washing, cleaning, and maintaining the kitchen and dining room. This part-time role (4:00pm–8:00pm) requires a College Level Food Service Worker Program, a current Safe Food Handling Certificate, and a negative vulnerable sector check. Candidates must also complete a 2-step TB skin test within the last 12 months. Southbridge Care Homes manages long-term care homes and retirement communities across Ontario, focusing on excellence in care and economic sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
- Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date
- Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date
