Job Summary
Provide assistance in all food service functions, serving meals in accordance with portion control and therapeutic diet requirements while ensuring resident preferences are met. Setup, deliver, and verify accuracy of meal trays and carts, then remove soiled items and collect menus as instructed. Assist cooks in preparation, prepare snacks, manage inventory, and perform kitchen utilities including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas. Adhere to all health department regulations and safety policies to maintain clean, hazard-free dining environments. Shifts run 6:00AM to 2:30PM with occasional 3:30PM to 7:30PM coverage and every other weekend required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Entry Level (0-3 Years) experience in Food Service or Hospitality
- Serv Safe or required certification from local, county or state department
- Capable of communicating well verbally and in a manner understood by management, co-workers and residents who may have hearing or cognitive impairments
- Basic cooking and preparation of meal items
- Thorough understanding of service techniques and requirements
- Ability to seek instruction when needed
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Fundamental understanding of therapeutic diets, sanitation and service
- Ability to interact with a multitude of various personalities and respond with patience, concern and a positive attitude
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor towards all residents, guests, and co-workers
- Shifts are 6:00AM to 2:30PM, with occasional the 3:30PM to 7:30PM, and every other weekend required
