Job Summary
Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences while maintaining portion control and proper serving temperatures. Operates equipment including dishwashers and monitors refrigeration and freezer temperatures, documenting all checks and corrective actions for unsatisfactory quality. Assists cooks by cleaning and preparing uncooked foods, clearing trays, and loading machines, while ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of dietary supplies. Performs ware washing duties for catering locations and participates in facility meetings and in-service education programs. Requires Food Handlers Certification and ability to lift moderately to heavily; offers competitive pay of $23/hour with flexible scheduling for independent contractors in Walkerton, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
- Food Handlers Certification approved by Public Health Department
- Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting and stand for long periods of time
