Job Summary
Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner while assisting with the setup, preparation, and cleanup of all meal services. Set and clear dining tables, deliver tray service, and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area. Assist with catering for special occasions and theme events, and participate in the orientation and training of new dietary employees. Comply with all health and safety legislation, departmental procedures, and provincial regulations. Requires a Food Handler's Certificate, physical ability to lift heavy items, and proficiency in a second language is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler's Certificate
- Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift
- Must be able to provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, or be willing to obtain one
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in a second language
