Job Summary
Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals for nursing home residents following established dietary guidelines and recipes. Assist with meal planning and accommodate residents' medical conditions, preferences, and special requests; help with special diets (low-sodium, low-sugar, pureed) and ensure meals are served at proper temperatures. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety, follow food safety guidelines, manage inventory, and assist with ordering supplies. Communicate dietary changes and preferences to the nursing staff; work as part of the dietary team to deliver high-quality meals and resident service in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in healthcare food service setting preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred but not required
