Job Summary
Dietary Aide supports meal service in a long-term care setting: assist in set up, preparation, serving and cleanup for meals; deliver tray service; maintain dining/kitchen cleanliness; assist with catering and participate in special events; help orient/train new dietary staff; comply with health, safety, and department procedures; and uphold resident rights and organizational values while contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrates customer service skills, physical stamina, and teamwork to support residents and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate
- Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
- Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
