Job Summary
Portion and serve food items, deliver trays and carts to resident floors, and work the tray line. Clean dining rooms, dish rooms, and pot sinks while sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash and recyclables. Prepare meals, desserts, and snacks according to the menu schedule, ensuring special diets are followed and serving portions are estimated correctly. Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitized work environment by washing pots and pans, adhering to health code requirements for storage and temperatures, and documenting compliance. Speak English adequately to perform job duties and participate in continuing educational programs.
Required Qualifications

- Must have experience in cooking in a skilled nursing facility
- Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be interested in geriatrics
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and/or 50 pounds occasionally
