Job Summary
Prepare, reheat, and serve meals and beverages according to resident nutritional profiles and dietary preferences. Maintain the dietary department in a safe, sanitary manner by following provincial regulations, proper food handling techniques, and scheduled cleaning duties. Assist the cook with meal preparation, set and clean dining tables, wash dishes, and monitor food supply quality. Complete documentation of food and refrigeration temperatures and alert the Director of Food Services to any problems. Participate in quality management programs, special occasion meals, and departmental training sessions while promoting team spirit and maintaining security.
Required Qualifications
- Food Service Worker training program completion or enrollment
- Up to date certification in the Food Safety Food Safety Awareness Program offered by Public Health
- Minimum of grade 10 education
- Ability to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with residents of an LTC home
- Ability to work accurately, quickly, and safely
- Ability to maintain an acceptable standard of health and personal hygiene
