Job Summary
Serve food, dishwash, and assist with food preparation under the cook's direction. Maintain kitchen safety by operating utensils and equipment efficiently while tolerating temperature changes and standing or lifting throughout the shift. Demonstrate maturity, good judgment, and flexibility by relating effectively with staff, residents, and families while adhering to all verbal and written instructions. Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous improvement
- Experience working with food
- Must be able to relate, communicate and co-operate effectively with staff, residents, residents' families, and the public
- Knowledge of basic nutrition and special diet needs of individual residents
- Able to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely and efficiently
- Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature change
- Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the workday
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be open to new knowledge and changes in the healthcare and food service fields
- Must be able to exhibit maturity, good judgment, and flexibility
- Possess physical and mental capabilities to provide quality resident care
- Must show genuine concern for the elderly
- New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check
- New employees will be required to complete a TB test
