Job Summary
Dietary Aide responsible for setting up meal trays, assisting with serving, operating the dishwasher, checking chlorine concentration and water temperatures, preparing nourishments and snacks, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, and participating in orientation/training. Reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor. Must be able to learn food service routines quickly, follow recipes and procedures, and obtain a food handlers’ certificate. No supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate
- Ability to read technical procedures
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Mathematical skills to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
