Job Summary
Assist residents with making appropriate food and beverage choices while ensuring options meet their dietary restrictions, allergies, and sensitivities. Perform dining service set-up, including preparing meals and beverages at proper temperatures, and manage clean-up duties such as bussing tables, washing dishes, and stocking areas. Maintain kitchen and dining conditions by sweeping, mopping, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are stored correctly. Document food temperatures in HACCP logs and record product usage, while adhering to infection control procedures and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments
- Must have or be willing to receive a recognized food safety handling certification in accordance with local or county regulations
- Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County (in accordance with County health regulations)
- Must be patient and tolerant with staff, residents, and family members
- Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents
- Ability to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes, such as entering refrigerated storage areas and working at ovens, ranges, dish-washing machines, and steam tables
- Must be free from infections or diseases
Desired Qualifications
- One year of dietary aide experience preferred
