Job Summary
Conduct food service functions by assisting in meal preparation, setting up trays and carts, and delivering food to residents. Work with the Dietitian and Director of Food Services to implement recommended changes while ensuring all procedures follow established policies. Maintain daily cleaning duties and inspect food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper equipment care. Collect menus and obtain supplies for the next meal, checking diet trays before distribution. Serve meals on a timely basis and maintain a good rapport with inter-department personnel, residents, and family members.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate
- This position requires the successful completion of a background check
- This position requires the successful completion of a pre-employment physical
- This position requires the successful completion of a drug screening
