Job Summary
Provide meals that are appetizing and served in a timely manner and support daily dietary services in accordance with facility procedures. Responsibilities include preparing meals, serving in dining rooms according to portion control and tray cards/spread sheets, assisting with daily cleaning duties, washing and returning dishes, setting up dining areas and meal trays, restocking supplies, and assisting in menu changes as required. Uphold residents' rights and dignity, maintain confidentiality under HIPAA, follow infection-control and safety procedures, report accidents and concerns, and participate in training and Quality Assurance initiatives. Requires ability to read/write/speak English, move intermittently, and meet general health requirements; prior on-the-job training provided. The role supports the Carmelite Sisters and facility mission, emphasizing teamwork, respectful interaction with residents, and professional conduct in a long-term care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education and Learning: Able to participate in learning activities to obtain required skills
- Certifications: None required
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
- Must meet the general health requirements (medical/physical examination)
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly residents
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to blood/bloodborne pathogens and other hazards
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and infection control measures
- Must be able to assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies
- On-the-job training provided
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
