Job Summary
Serves meals, sets up dining areas, and delivers food carts to residents while adhering to portion control and temperature standards. Prepares snacks, assists in meal preparation for special events, and manages inventory of incoming supplies. Performs dishwashing, cleans worktables and kitchen equipment, and sweeps floors to maintain sanitation. Reads diet spreadsheets to resolve issues independently and implements changes from the dietary supervisor. Uses required equipment including blenders, freezers, and dishwashers while following all safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years of age or older
- work permit
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- ability to make independent decisions when appropriate circumstances arise
- ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties
- ability to use the current Diet Manual to resolve a diet issue in the absence of the Supervisor
- proficiency in the use of the following equipment and the cleaning of this equipment: Blender, Toaster, Freezers, Oven & Range, Steam table, Refrigerators, Plate Warmer, Coffee Maker, Dishwasher, Garbage Disposal, Can Opener, and a Three Compartment Sink
