Dietary Aide (Healthcare)

Job Summary
Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager. Provide assistance to the cook in meal preparation and service, meeting scheduled meal and snack times. Wash and store dishes while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and safe work environments. Follow Federal, State, and facility policies regarding long-term care regulations, infection control, and HIPAA. Report damaged fixtures, unsafe equipment, and conditions conducive to pests. Assist in receiving food supplies and arrange tray cards for residents. Maintain compliance with all data regulations and accept assigned duties cooperatively.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments
- Numerical accountability is necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Good motor coordination and manual dexterity
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner
- Ability to assume accountability for all data contained in the employee's handbook
- Maintains compliance with all HIPAA regulations
- Maintains the highest standards of sanitation and safe work environment
Desired Qualifications
- High School graduate
- Previous institutional dietary service experience
- Show a willingness to perform, routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members
- Will be able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation
