Job Summary
Assist in food preparation, serving, and cleaning by checking trays for menu accuracy, setting up serving lines, and delivering meals to residents. Wash dishes, sanitize utensils, clean equipment, and mop floors in dining and kitchen areas. Stock food items, maintain adequate inventory levels, and report hazardous conditions or incidents as necessary. Attend in-service education programs and adhere to Standard Precautions, fire drills, and evacuation procedures while protecting resident records and property. Work in a fast-paced environment subject to frequent interruptions, potential call-backs during emergencies, and exposure to infectious waste or hazardous chemicals. Maintain confidentiality and promote a supportive atmosphere for elderly and disabled residents.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in hospital or skilled nursing facility dietary department preferred
- Organized and detailed in work performance
- Good communication skills
- Excellent self-discipline
- Patience
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- Compliance with Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
- Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties as outlined
