Job Summary
Prepare and portion food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and established policies. Handle food using proper safety techniques, sanitize all equipment, and complete general cleaning and maintenance of the work area. Assist with stocking the Dietary department, operate dish machines, and maintain records regarding patient diet information. Utilize concepts of age and developmental stages in interactions with patients and families while assessing risks and implementing appropriate safety precautions. Comply with infection prevention standards and complete required trainings. May be required to work during inclement weather and staffing emergencies. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred with one year of healthcare food services experience.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Demonstrates proficiency with general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain quality, Infection Prevention, and safety standards
- Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling often for prolonged periods
- Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to hear overhead page
- Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule
- Completes required trainings, as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1 year experience in healthcare food services preferred
- Food Handler's permit preferred
