Job Summary
Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary guidelines, then serve food to residents in a timely and courteous manner. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen by following food safety protocols and ensure meals are presented attractively at the appropriate temperature. Adhere to residents' dietary restrictions outlined in care plans, maintain accurate records of special requirements, and report any deviations or changes in resident conditions to nursing staff. Engage with residents respectfully, address food-related concerns, and collaborate with dietary staff and nurses to ensure seamless meal service. Complete mandatory training, attend required meetings, and assist with inventory control by checking and storing food supplies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Capability to handle hot and cold food items
- Basic understanding of food preparation and safety procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality
