Job Summary
The Dietary Aide will assist in the service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff and support the preparation and delivery of meals. Responsibilities include pre-portions or preparing foods for regular and therapeutic diets per the planned menu, applying proper food safety techniques, cleaning and sanitizing preparation equipment, maintaining the dietary work area, stocking the Dietary department with essential patient food items, operating the dish machine, and maintaining records regarding patient diet information. The role requires knowledge of patient diets and safe food handling, basic math and computer skills for data entry and records management, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and the ability to work with others in a healthcare setting. Physical duties include standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other tasks as needed. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred; 1 year of healthcare food service experience and a Food Handlers Permit are also preferred. The position supports a hospital environment that values safety, infection prevention, and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
