Job Summary
Dietary Aide provides support to meal setup, preparation, serving and cleanup in the Residence/Home. Responsibilities include serving meals, assisting with setup/preparation for service of items (beverages, salads, desserts, etc.), setting/clearing tables, delivering tray service, maintaining cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas, assisting with catering and special events, and participating in orientation/training of new dietary staff. Must follow health and safety legislation and department policies; uphold Resident Rights; attend in-service training and staff meetings; participate in the Quality Improvement Program; work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults; and contribute to Extendicare’s mission and values. Time type: Part time. Location: LTC - Telfer Place, Paris, Ontario, Canada. Final salary offers based on skills/experience and total rewards package.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate
- Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
- Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
