Dietary Aide (Brantford/Cambridge/Kitchener)

Job Summary
Assist with plating and serving meals while ensuring food is prepared according to health and food guidelines. Clean serving areas and equipment, properly storing supplies after each use. Participate in meal presentation and assist in preparing the food and environment for special events. Deliver meals based on resident assessed needs and provide input on menu planning. Report any repair work or environmental deficiencies immediately. Use the CQI/Risk Management process to evaluate follow-up and actively participate in ongoing educational opportunities and departmental committees. Full-time position in Brantford, Cambridge, or Kitchener. Requires current Food Handler's Certificate and successful completion of a Food Service Worker Program. Previous dietary experience in Long-Term Care preferred. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
- Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting
