Job Summary

Set up and break down the dining room before and after each meal service. Deliver meal trays to residents according to their individual dietary orders and tray tickets, verifying each tray is correct before delivery. Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, while cleaning food prep surfaces and dining rooms after each meal. Label, date, and store food items using FIFO rotation, and monitor temperatures per food safety guidelines. Report resident food refusals or low intake to the nurse or Dietary Manager promptly. Requires Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire; must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs. Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Food Handler Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions including diet orders
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
  • Compassionate and patient when interacting with elderly residents
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred — will consider all applicants
  • Prior food service experience a plus — not required
