Job Summary
Dietary Aide assists with reviewing, preparing and serving meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes, handling special diet orders, and preparing nutritional bedtime snacks. Delivers food carts and trays to designated areas, serves in the dining room, and performs dishwashing and kitchen cleaning duties. Maintains sanitation and infection-control standards, ensures supplies and equipment are properly managed, and supports overall food service operations. Requires ability to read/write English, maintain cleanliness, demonstrate patience and tact with residents, and handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds and moving up to 50 feet; evacuation assistance may be required in emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must maintain the care & use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Must possess the ability to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Suggested education requirement: High School
