Job Summary
Provide safe preparation, serving, and distribution of nutritious meals to clients under the direction of the Coordinator or Supervisor (Nutrition & Food Services). In addition to meal service to staff and visitors, perform cashier duties, and adhere to sanitation safety guidelines while following established policies and procedures. Duties include assisting with meal service, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with government regulations; the role functions in alignment with the organization's mission and values. The position is a part-time, in-person role with weekend and day shifts, requiring bilingual English/French communication and experience with therapeutic diets and electronic menu systems where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Six (6) months experience in food handling and/or healthcare food services
- Minimum Grade 10 education
- Completion of a Dietary Aide certificate
- Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or equivalent Food Sanitation course or willingness to acquire within six months
- Bilingual English/French proficiency
- Knowledge of therapeutic and texture modified diets
- Knowledge of sanitary food handling principles
- Experience with cash management (cash handling)
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
- Good attendance and work history
- Criminal background checks as required (e.g., satisfactory Police checks)
- Vaccination as per policy
